About me
Hi 😊 my name is Jen and I am the owner and founder of Lumera Aesthetics, Skin and Wellness Clinic. A little bit about me 😊 ….. So I have always loved art, creating art, drawing, painting, as a child I could sit there for ages doing all these things and I think this is the reason I am so passionate about Aesthetics. This isn’t just about having a needle in my hand, although ethics, patient safety and following a Code of Conduct is everything, I also believe Aesthetics is a real art and being naturally creative and having a sharp eye for detail is a real skill and key to have in this industry.
I have 3 beautiful children who I adore dearly and everything I do, I do for them. I also enjoy working for myself because I get the flexibility to take days off when I need to spend much precious and valuable time with my children, something that nursing full time did not allow me to do.
I have always loved skincare and trying out the latest skincare routines that hit the market. I began getting heavily involved in all the technical terms and the science behind skin when I began to suffer with bad acne in my early teens and this set me off in trying all sorts of regimes to try keep it at bay! This is what got me into skincare and furthering my knowledge around skin science, I wanted to help others with their skin concerns because I know how much it can affect your confidence.
Fast forward to now, and with my love of Art, in 2016, ‘Skinique Aesthetics’ was built. This started off with facials and over time gradually grew and expanded my business to offering a wide range of treatments including injectables, weight loss, facial and body skin tightening, lasers and lots more anti-ageing treatments. I fall in love with it even more every single day. The best part? Meeting so many beautiful people over the years, many who I am fortunate enough to now call ‘friends’.
So what got me into nursing? I have always had a huge fascination of how the mind works and ALWAYS loved helping others and pulling them up. When I was a child, I always wanted to be a criminal psychologist but at this point of my life I decided to go into Mental Health Nursing so this is what I did. I love nursing and loved my time as a nurse in both the private sector and within the NHS but I knew it was time to get back to my business full time and the best part? I get to use my nursing skills. Ethics and counselling skills in my business definitely go hand in hand whilst getting to be creative at the same time so I now get the best of both worlds!
12 years later, and a lot of hard work put in, my business has grown from strength to strength and I am so proud of myself for what I have achieved. I am constantly upskilling with ongoing training and CPD courses, learning new treatments, bringing out the latest devices, keeping up with yearly complications and emergency life skills training so that my clients will always feel assured that they are in safe hands.
So this brings me onto my new brand name ‘Lumera Medical Aesthetics, Skin & Wellness Clinic.
I use to go by the name of Skinique Aesthetics but felt it was time for a change and Lumera was the perfect fit for me and what myself, and my business represent:

We have a clinic in Urmston and have just opened in Lymm too so looking forward to welcoming everyone there and meeting some new faces.
About Lumera
Lumera was a name I chose with both intention and from the heart.
Inspired by the word “luminous,” Lumera represents light, radiance, and that effortless glow that comes from healthy, well-cared-for skin and aesthetics that are natural whereby you look refreshed, glowing and youthful but no one knows that you have had work done. This is the beauty ‘of good work’ and exactly what I believe in in my clinic, so when you walk out, you feel confident, listened too, happy and real sense of empowerment.
It was created with passion for natural, confidence-boosting results and a belief that aesthetics should feel personal, honest, and empowering for every single one of you when you come to see me, individually tailored to each one of your needs and requirements.
I bring my own expertise to my brand, being a qualified nurse with over 12 years, advanced aesthetics experience within the industry and a deep love for my work. From the very beginning, I wanted a name that reflected not only the results I aim to achieve, but also how I want every client to feel — confident, refreshed, and naturally radiant. For me, Lumera is more than a clinic. It’s a reflection of my personal approach to aesthetics and wellness — one that values subtlety, simplicity, and authenticity. I believe true beauty isn’t about changing who you are but enhancing what’s already there in the most refined and natural way and in doing so, helping you feel empowered from the inside as well as out. I am sure my existing clients will tell you the same who have all stayed with me since opening my doors 12 years ago, and by looking at my 5 star reviews on all social media platforms 😊 something that makes me feel so proud of what I have created. A place that is safe, welcoming and where you feel heard!
The name also captures the feeling I wanted to create within the space itself: fresh, calm, clean, and quietly luxurious. A place where you can step away from the noise of everyday life and focus on yourself, something we don’t often get to do.
I chose Lumera because it perfectly represents my vision — results that are soft yet transformative, and a standard of care that feels both elevated and deeply personal whilst always putting your safety first.
